Ginger Wrap For Colds Helps Remove Mucus. Here's how to make it.

GINGER WRAP for colds

* Coconut oil
* Agave
* Gauze
* Napkin
* Bandage
* Approved Flour
* Crushed ginger or juice

* Mix the agave and the flour into a paste, but make an attempt not to touch it. Add some coconut oil and some fresh ginger juice and then re-roll this mixture in flour.
* Put the paste on a napkin and wrap it with the help of a gauze.

This blog was inspired from the birth of my son. While my son's mother and my wife at the time was watching commercials by big Pharma about whooping cough. It terrified her to the point that she wanted to vaccinate my son as soon as he was born. I'm a naturalist so you know I was a against it off the top. We had a huge argument about it as I tried to explain to her how big pharma are always doing commercials to scare people into using either prescription and non prescription drugs or their vaccines. I did manage to find a way trick her into not doing it. And today, at the age of 3 little Ethan is as strong as ever. 

I want to share with you a little bit about Whooping Cough.  We are capable of overcoming it naturally with no medication whatsoever.  Everything I am going to share with you are things that I did to help prevent my son from this nasty sickness. First we need to talk about what whooping cough is.

What is Whooping Cough?

The CDC (Center of Diease Control) defines whooping-cough as follows:

“Pertussis, a respiratory illness commonly known as whooping-cough, is a very contagious disease caused by a type of bacteria called Bordetella pertussis.  These bacteria attach to the cilia (tiny, hair-like extensions) that line part of the upper respiratory system.  The bacteria release toxins (poisons), which damage the cilia and cause airways to swell.”

Whooping Cough is a highly contagious airborne illness that can be spread by simply by an infected person coughing or sneezing around you.  Symptoms of whooping-cough do not arise quickly.  It usually takes a week or two.  So, you could be around someone who has whooping-cough and is contagious, but they just don’t know it yet.

Early Symptoms

Early symptoms typically resemble that of a common cold, including runny nose, mild fever, and mild occasional cough.  Babies (under 1 year in age) can experience Apnea as an early symptom.  Apnea is a pause in the child’s breathing.

Later Symptoms

Symptoms will worsen within 1 to 2 weeks of having the onset of the “cold-like symptoms,” if you do in fact have whooping-cough.  Later symptoms include intense coughing fits that are followed by the “whoop” sound.  This could cause vomiting after coughing and exhaustion from coughing.


Whooping cough can last a very long time.  It has even been nicknamed the “100-Day-Cough,” because of the extent to which it lasts.  The early symptoms typically last for 1 – 2 weeks.  The later symptoms can last anywhere from 1 to 10 weeks.  The recovery period can last from 2 – 4 weeks.  During the recovery period, your or your child will have a small coughing fit every now and then.  The cough will be much lesser in strength and will slowly disappear.

Whooping Cough in Children

The biggest concern with whooping-cough is in young babies (under 1-year-old).  The younger your child is, the bigger of a concern whooping-cough becomes.  Half of babies that have whooping-cough are taken to the hospital.  The following statistics from the CDC are taken from the babies that are hospitalized.  Remember, these statistics are only from half (approximately) of babies who come down with whooping-cough.

1 out of 4 (23%) get pneumonia (lung infection)1 out of 100 (1.1%) will have convulsions (violent, uncontrolled shaking)3 out of 5 (61%) will have apnea (slowed or stopped breathing)1 out of 300 (0.3%) will have encephalopathy (disease of the brain)1 out of 100 (1%) will die

As you can see from the statistics, whooping-cough has its risks.

Traditional Whooping Cough Treatment

To be diagnosed with whooping-cough your doctor will most likely do 1 of 2 things: take a sample of mucus for a laboratory test OR take a blood test.  Traditionally, doctors will treat whooping-cough with an antibiotic.  According to this study done in 2007, antibiotics are effective in causing the disease to no longer become contagious.  However, they do not typically shorten or cure the illness.  Antibiotics can be helpful in many situations, though it should be taken into consideration the side effects of antibiotics before you take them or give them to your child.  There are some really great articles about the problems antibiotics can cause. I may even have a few in some of my previous blogs. Feel free to go through my archives. 

I learned that the antibiotics are hardly effective on whooping cough and that they can be dangerous.  For that reason, I recommend not to use them.  I prefer to use a natural solution as my first go to.  If I am in a situation where the natural solution is completely ineffective (which I can't see happening) then I would consider using them.  However, this is not the case for the antibiotics prescribed for whooping-cough.

Natural Whooping Cough Treatment

The following things are what we did to help lessen the symptoms of my daughter’s whooping-cough.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is very very powerful.  It is completely safe and effective to give to your infant.  The only side effect of Vitamin C is diarrhea.  This only happens if your child has had too much Vitamin C.  So, if you notice your child’s stools becoming a little thin, then you have given him/her enough Vitamin C.  Vitamin C, given in high doses, is very effective in relieving the symptoms of Whooping Cough. Not only does it help relieve the symptoms but it can also give your immune system a boost to help protect you from contracting something like pneumonia.  If you are a parent of a child with whooping-cough, you should also take Vitamin C to help.

Skin to Skin

If you have an infant sick with whooping-cough, make sure to give your child a lot of skin to skin contact. This actually boosts their immune system!

Stay Away From Dairy

During this time it is best to avoid dairy products as it can make the cough worse. Dairy products of are mucus producing foods. Try to eat lots of fruits and vegetables!

Steam Baths

Providing a steam bath will do wonders!  Though it only provides temporary relief, it is worth it!  You can sit in the bathroom with HOT water running for as long as you need to.  Add a few drops of essential oils to the bath water to help out as well.  Eucalyptus, Lavender, and Tea Tree all will work very well in helping you to feel better.

Garlic Lavender Salve

There are many articles out there on Garlic Lavender Salve and how to make it .  This will be helpful for late night coughs.

Moisture In The Air

Put moisture into the air!  If you do not have a humidifier, now would be a good time to get one!  Also using an essential oil diffuser with either Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Frankincense, Lemon, Peppermint, or Lavender, can be very helpful.


Garlic can be very effective in killing bacteria and viruses.  You can try this recipe for 52 Garlic Clove Soup (it really works!).  If you are caring for an infant with whooping-cough you can add garlic to any homemade pureed baby food.  I made my son pureed potatoes and carrots with garlic and he loved it!

Ginger and Turmeric

Whooping cough causes a lot of inflammation in the lungs.  Turmeric and Ginger are both highly anti-inflammatory.  I would drink a small glass of orange juice a day with 1 teaspoon of turmeric and ginger in it to help relieve the symptoms. 


There are many Homeopathic remedies for dealing with violent and harsh coughs.  We used Drosera Rotundifolia and it will most definitely helped relieve your child's cough at night-time when they go to bed.

Lobelia Tincture

This tincture has been shown to be very effective in helping with intense cough. I've never actually try this remedy.  However, many people have had great success.

What About The Pertussis Vaccination?

Vaccinated or not, children and adults alike get whooping-cough.  Unfortunately, there is no substantial evidence that shows the Pertussis Vaccination to be effective.  In 2010 there was a study done with 132 patients who were diagnosed with Whooping Cough.  81% of these patients were fully vaccinated. Whether or not you vaccinate your children, just remember to be mindful of others around you that may be sick.  Wash your hands frequently, drink a lot of water, and make sure you are getting a good amount of Vitamin C in your system (especially during cold and flu season).  There is a very informative article by Dr. Mercola about the Pertussis vaccination that you can Google.  He also gives many more natural remedies for dealing with Whooping Cough.

My hopes are that you and your family never encounter this terrible illness.  It really can be miserable. 5 reasons to drink lemon water

There has been a lot of talk about the benefits of drinking “lemon water” – that is, water with some fresh lemon juice

So, what is all the fuss about with this lemon water thing that everyone is doing all of a sudden?


The most common thing you will hear is that despite being acidic, lemon juice is alkalinizing or “alkaline forming” and cleansing for the system – and that in an alkaline system, diseases such as cancer cannot proliferate. That’s the simplified theory, anyway – and I’m sure that the part about cancer remains “unproven”.

For those who don’t fully understand what “alkalinizing” means, here’s a brief not-too-technical explanation: Acidity and its opposite, alkalinity, are measured on a scale called the pH scale. (It is supposed to be written that way, with the small p and the capital H.) The lowest pH theoretically possible is 0 – for example concentrated hydrochloric acid solution has a pH of 0. The highest pH possible is 14, for example concentrated sodium hydroxide solution. Pure distilled water is pH7 – and anything below 7 is said to be “acidic”. Anything above 7 is said to be “alkaline”. Lemon juice, when pure, has a pH of around 2.2 to 2.4, depending on ripeness – however the more diluted it is, the more the pH shifts towards 7.

Something that is alkalinizing is something that causes the pH of the environment in which it resides to increase. Where it gets really interesting – and a little more complex – is when we realize that the actual acid content of the food doesn’t determine per se whether or not it’s acid-forming or alkaline-forming after the body metabolizes it! And it just so happens that lemons are highly alkaline-forming.

Lemon water is considered by many to be a magnificent “detox drink” and it is one of the things that is served when you visit the spa. It’s good to stay hydrated, especially at the sauna or during typical bodywork practices such as massage… and the lemon water is thought to assist with removal of toxins, in addition to supporting vital organs such as the liver, kidneys and gall bladder. It’s thought that lemon water will flush and cleanse the system – especially when taken first thing upon waking.

Note that other citrus fruits (and other fruits) are considered beneficial in water also. Oranges, grapefruit, lime and other citrus are alkalinizing, though not as strongly as lemons.

Another interesting thing to be aware of is that refined sugars are acid-forming in the body and are reported to create conditions which are preferable to pathogens. So let’s dump the sugar drinks! We live in a society constantly making great strides in the medical and scientific arenas, but our greatest enemy – Cancer – still seems to have us on the ropes.

It’s being claimed that this notably less toxic substance can destroy it, and has very few fatal cases.

The Cover-Up:

There’s a reason there isn’t much published research on the effects of using laetrile/B17 to battle cancer, and it’s rather convoluted.

There have been alternative cancer doctors prescribing the usage of laetrile for a while, but as a cancer treatment it was banned by the FDA. And here’s where the accusations start to fly.

Some have stated that this treatment was deliberately suppressed because it would destroy profits. Why would they support a treatment that wouldn’t be “patentable”? It wouldn’t make economic sense.

What You Can Do:

There may be a lack of scientific proof that amygdalin could help against cancer, but people have taken much more dangerous chances.

Laetrile is generally regarded by the Amazon reviewers as without side effects, so long as only a few seeds are eaten per day. Compare this risk to the notoriously dangerous disease of Cancer, and it’s clear enough that many people are prepared to take what they think is a low risk here.

Could this really be a serious (yet covered-up) aid in the battle against cancer? It’s a fascinating possibility.

And while it might not come as a huge shock that Americans eat a lot of these foods, what might surprise you is the extent that we’re eating on them. A study published found that 58 percent of the average American’s daily energy intake comes from ultra-processed foods like cakes, white breads and diet sodas. That is a scary number.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, the study also found that 90 percent of Americans’ “added sugar intake” comes from ultra-processed foods. In fact, sugar makes up about 21 percent of the calories in ultra-processed foods.

The added sugar found in these foods, often disguised as different types of artificial sweeteners, are responsible for a variety of health conditions, from obesity to type 2 diabetes to migraines. Studies have shown that people who consumed more than 21 percent of their daily calories from added sugar double their risk of death from heart disease as those who consumed less than 10 percent of their calories from added sugars. So basically added sugars are killing us.

It’s clear that ultra-processed foods need to be taken out of our kitchens. And I know you're asking, "Woody,  how do you go about replacing the foods your family knows and loves with better-for-you alternatives?" Here's some possibilities:

The Processed Foods Spectrum
Not all processed foods are created equally – chowing down on Twinkies is certainly not the same as adding frozen spinach to your smoothies, even though they’re technically both processed. Check out the spectrum below to learn what ones you should start kicking to the curb.

Avoid: Ultra-processed foods
Frozen dinners (yes, that includes pizza), all sodas (even diet!), store-bought cakes and cookies (goodbye, Little Debbie), boxed cake mixes – if your great-grandmother wouldn’t recognize it as a food, it probably isn’t.

Not Often: Processed foods
Things like jarred pasta sauce, sausage, store-bought salad dressings and whole-grain bread aren’t terrible in moderation or when you’re short on time but, when possible, it’s best to make your own.

Better: Minimally processed foods
This includes things like extra virgin olive oil, meats (naturally raised), plain yogurt, nut butters (where the only ingredients are the nut and salt), frozen vegetables and fruit that have been processed at their peak to lock in freshness and nutrition.

Best: Unprocessed foods
Fresh fruit, wild-caught fish and veggies fall into this category. They’re delicious just as nature made ‘em.

How to Swear Off Ultra-Processed Foods

1. Make gradual changes

While it’s tempting to make drastic changes, you and your family will have a better chance at sticking to healthy habits if you decide on one change at a time and see it through.

For example, if you usually serve soda or juice with meals, try replacing one glass with water instead. After a few days, replace another glass. Not only will this help ease you into changes mentally, but it’ll also help reduce any physical symptoms you might experience.

2. Shop with a grocery list

It’s a lot easier to make healthy choices and avoid ultra-processed foods when you have a list of the items you’re looking for. Make a list of the meals you’re preparing for the week and all the ingredients required. And if you’re thinking of heading to the store without eating, forget about it. Shopping on a full stomach will make it harder to resist those foods you should avoid.

3. Shop the perimeter

You’ve probably heard it before, but there’s a reason it’s advised that you shop the edge of the store and skip most of the middle aisles. Fresh produce, meats and dairy are nearly always around the store perimeter, while ultra-processed foods get stacked on the shelves in the middle of the store. By limiting the aisles you shop, you’ll resist temptation to purchase bad-for-you foods.

Similarly, hit the healthier part of the grocery store first. One of the things I love about certain Whole Foods is that you enter the store in the vegetable and fruit area, so you start loading up on the best foods in the store well before  you may start getting tempted by the naughty processed or ultra-processed foods.

4. Read the ingredients list.

If there’s something on the ingredients list of a packaged food that you couldn’t buy to use in your own kitchen – or whose name you can’t even pronounce – it’s probably highly processed.

Don’t forget that ingredients are listed in the order of how prevalent in a food they are. Beware of what’s listed as one of the first five ingredients. Or, better yet, avoid foods that have more than five ingredients in them.

5. Look out for added sugars.

Food manufacturers have gotten cleverer about how sugars are listed by using different terms for the substance in the ingredients list. One rule of thumb is that ingredients ending with “ose” are sugars: think sucrose, fructose and dextrose. Another is to use fancy or “natural” sounding sugars – cane sugar, beet sugar, cane juice, fruit juice and maple syrup are all still sugars.

What Ultra-Processed Foods You Should Stop Eating Today – and Healthier Alternatives

Ready to cut out ultra-processed foods but aren’t sure how to replace them in foods but aren’t sure what to eat instead? Try my favorite healthy alternatives.


Say no to those artificially colored, deep-fried potato chips with zero nutritional value. Instead, make your own chips. You don’t have to stick to potatoes either. I’m a huge fan of spicy kale chips, zucchini chips and even sweet baked apple chips. Keep these on hand when you need a TV time snack or to nibble on while getting dinner ready.

Frozen Pizza:

For a food that requires so little to make, frozen pizzas are loaded with preservatives, additives and unrecognizable ingredients. Instead of keeping a stash in the freezer, try loading up one of these easy doughs, like my coconut crust pizza or cauliflower pizza crust with your favorite toppings. These are super tasty, come together quickly and you can customize them to your family’s tastes.

Sodas and juices:

Replace sugary sodas and store-bought juices with homemade drinks that taste great and are good for you, too. This anti-inflammatory green juice will boost your body’s natural defenses, while my orange carrot ginger juice is a crowd-pleaser amongst kids – the only difference they’ll notice is how much better this juice tastes.

Cakes and frosting:

Sweet treats don’t need to be eliminated entirely, but when there are alternatives that taste this good, there’s no need for ultra-processed versions. This chocolate frosting is fantastic atop homemade baked goods – maybe even on this gluten-free chocolate cake!

Ultra-processed foods’ ubiquity can be difficult to escape, but it can be done. Eliminating those foods and replacing them with healthier alternatives is one of the best things you can do for your family’s health.

Other Home Remedies

In 1986, the Childhood Vaccine Injury Act made vaccine manufacturers immune from all prosecution due to vaccines. Instead of holding the manufacturers accountable, vaccines are taxed, and these taxes go to the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.9 In order to receive compensation for vaccine injury, one must win in Vaccine Court. Vaccine Court is a rigged system of compensation designed to protect the vaccine industry and deny claims brought forth by parents and family members of dead and crippled children and adults. There is a better than 80% chance that a claim will be denied by vaccine court. If claims are paid out, compensation rarely covers medical expenses. If a vaccine kills, the maximum payout is $250,000.10 Isn’t human life worth more than a quarter of a million dollars?

Adverse reactions to vaccines can also result in agonizing, rare, exotic, and crippling diseases. A few examples of these are Guillain Barre Syndrome (an immune disorder in which the body attacks the nervous system), Transverse Myelitis (a neurological disorder which can result in paralysis, urinary retention, and loss of bowel control), Miller Fisher Syndrome (which can result in respiratory failure, abnormal muscle coordination, and a myriad of other symptoms) and Intussusception (which is caused by the intestine being pulled inward, onto itself, which can be fatal, and it is always excruciating).11

Typically, when we hear the term conscientious objector we think of someone who is opposed to military service during wartime. You Need To Know This Before You Eat At Subway Again

Yeah right!!! Believe that if you want to. Have you ever seen them slice meat in the store? I know I haven't. And even though they bake the bread there, it's even worst and I will explain in this blog.

Subway has been lying to their customers for years! You are not eating fresh at Subway!

Let me give you a brief history lesson on Subway and how they got start to where they are at today.

Subway was started in 1965 by a 17-year-old, named Fred DeLuca, who wanted to make extra money to pay for his college tuition.  He borrowed $1,000 from a family friend, Peter Buck, who would later become his business partner.  Their food has always been marketed as being fresh and healthy.  The Subway chain is now owned by Doctors Associates, Inc., which in turn is still owned by Peter and Fred.  Neither of which are medical doctors, by the way.  From what we can tell, Doctor’s Associates, Inc. does nothing more than own Subway, and gives the misleading impression that doctors are being consulted about the nutritional value of Subway’s foods.  In fact, there appears to be no doctors involved with Doctor’s Associates, Inc. at all, and Subway no longer offers fresh and healthy alternatives.

Most people give Subway the benefit of the doubt concerning their food items; assuming that they do the best that they can to provide healthy alternatives.  However, did you know that the 9-grain whole wheat bread that looks and smells freshly baked contains around 50 ingredients including refined flour, conditioners, MSG, refined sugar and more? Me either! How can a bread so processed ever come close to being a real food?

Italian (white) Bread: Enriched flour (wheat flour, barley malt, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), water, sugar, contains less than 2% of the following: soybean oil, fermented wheat flour, yeast, salt, wheat protein isolate, wheat gluten, dough conditioners (acetylated tartaric acid esters of mono- and diglycerides, ammonium sulfate, calcium sulfate, ascorbic acid, azodicarbonamide, potassium iodate, amylase [enzymes]), sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate, lactic acid, sulfites, mineral oil.

Even the bread at Subway is toxic.  Instead of using olive, sunflower, or peanut oil, they chose to use soybean oil.

When we look at all the Subway veggies, like the peppers and pickles, they all look so bright,  and appetizing. Do you think it’s all the artificial colors that make it look that way? Before I forget, (one of my favorite ingredients to put on my sandwich at subway) the black olives contain an additive called ferrous gluconate. Its only purpose is to keep the olives black

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is virtually a cure it all and here is a long list of things it can cure.

Apple Cider Vinegar, the Wonder ‘Drug’ of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow


Use the cider vinegar and honey treatment for arthritis and also apply cider vinegar externally to painful joints. This entails drinking a glass of water with two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two teaspoons of honey three times a day. Local treatment can also be given by soaking the arthritic hand, or foot in a strong, comfortably hot solution of cider vinegar for ten minutes, two or three times a day – (a quarter of a cup of cider vinegar to one and a half cups of water). Arthritic knees can be attended to by making a poultice – soak the cloth in a mixture of cider vinegar and water, (as per above mixture) wring out and wrap it around the joint, then secure with a dry cloth to retain heat. When the wet cloth cools, it should be wrung out in the hot solution and applied afresh. Repeat several times, twice daily.


One tablespoonful of cider vinegar added to a glass of water should be taken in sips for half an hour. After a further half an hour has elapsed the treatment should be repeated. The wheezing should lessen in intensity quite considerably. However, should wheezing still persist a second glass of the same mixture should be taken. Deep breathing exercises are also a beneficial treatment.


It has been discussed above how cider vinegar helps in preventing blood losses. In any circumstances where the flow of blood is too free and is too persistent, such as when a person has a nose bleed without any apparent reason, then two teaspoons of cider vinegar in a glass of water, three times a day will aid in restoring the natural clotting properties of the blood.


The cider vinegar and honey treatment has been used effectively in the treatment for colitis. Take the normal dosage of two teaspoons cider vinegar and honey with water, three times a day. An enema of a teaspoonful or more of molasses is also very helpful.


There are many types of coughs for various reasons, and these should be treated with reference to their nature and intensity. However, the cider vinegar and honey treatment will prove an efficacious treatment in this respect. Two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two of honey mixed with a glassful of water should be taken before meals, or when the irritation occurs. In the evening it would be an idea to have this mixture by your bed so that it can be sipped during the evening if an attack presents itself.


It has been mentioned above how cider vinegar helps with the digestion, assimilation and elimination of food, and that it is an antiseptic to the intestines and the whole of the digestive tract. Due to it’s healing properties, diarrhoea can be controlled in a very short time, (that is unless some serious physical disorder is apparent). The treatment being, one teaspoonful of cider vinegar in a glass of water should be taken before and inbetween meals i.e. approximately six glasses during the course of the day. It should be noted, however, that diarrhoea is a natural attempt on the part of the body to eliminate some poison which is irritating the digestive tract, on no account should any drugs be taken to suppress these healing symptoms – on the other hand the cider vinegar will lessen the intensity, but will allow the natural course of elimination to take place.


Two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar together with two teaspoons of honey in a glass of hot or cold water three times a day should help this annoying occurrence quite considerably. However, one should never expect instant results, as nature works slowly, yet very effectively. You will notice a lessened intensity whilst you progress.


The treatment for this complaint, which usually occurs during childhood is: one teaspoonful of cider vinegar in a glass of water to be taken mid morning and mid afternoon. The discharge should shortly disappear.


Take the usual dosage of cider vinegar and honey in a glassful of water three times a day, with meals. An application of well diluted cider vinegar can also be applied to the skin several times daily i.e. oneteaspoonful to half a cup of water. Under no circumstances should salt be taken, as this aggravates the eczema condition considerably. There is usually a potassium deficiency in those people suffering from eczema.


The apple cider vinegar therapy together with honey is the essential ingredients here. Two teaspoons of each taken in a glassful of water, three times a day. This mixture retards the onset of tired and sore eyes which are usually apparent in later life, as it supplies them with those vital elements essential to their health and functioning.


Chronic fatigue is a warning that the body needs some attention. Most people suffering from chronic fatigue do not have enough good, sound sleep. Either they go to bed too late, or they are one of those people who just need more sleep than most. It is better to get as many hours in bed before midnight as possible. To remedy a poor quality sleep, honey is highly recommended, as it acts as a sedative to the body. Twenty minutes after the honey has been taken into the mouth it has been digested and absorbed into the body. This is because it is a predigested sugar, which has been digested in the stomach of the honey bee, and therefore requires no effort on the part of the human stomach for digestion. Keep the following mixture by your bedside to be taken as indicated: three teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to a cup of honey.

Take two teaspoons of the mixture before retiring. This should induce sound sleep within an hour, if however, you have been unable to sleep within this period repeat the dosage.


As mentioned earlier there have been many cases where people who were in the habit of taking cider vinegar regularly never suffer any side effects from food poisoning. The cider vinegar has an antiseptic quality which seems to render noxious food harmless.


The falling out of hair is primarily due to a tissue salt deficiency, thus cider vinegar with its ‘wonder products’ will re-establish a natural balance, and supply the deficiencies where needed. Therefore, by taking the cider vinegar treatment the hair will maintain its natural growth. It will cease to fall out and grow more rapidly and thickly. This will take approximately two months, so perseverence is needed. The dosage is one teaspoonful of cider vinegar to a glass of water to be taken with or between meals. Cider vinegar can also be used externally for the treatment of dandruff, see under heading of External Treatments.


This ailment is marked by watery eyes, sneezing and running nose, in other words there is an excess of fluid which the body is drastically trying to offload. For an effective relief, honey and cider vinegar should be utilized which will bring excellent results. A tablespoonful of honey should be taken after each meal for approximately a fortnight before the onset of the hay-fever season. The ordinary dosage of cider vinegar and honey should then be taken viz: two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two of honey in a glass of water, three times a day. This dosage should be maintained during the entire hay-fever season.


There are several types of headache, caused by various reasons. Some are associated with organic disorders, such as kidney troubles, others are known as psychogenic, or tension headaches. Then we have the most annoying of all; the migraine headache. Many people have had relief from headaches by the use of honey. Two teaspoons taken at each meal may well prevent an attack. Another effective means is to take apple cider vinegar. Equal parts of cider vinegar and water should be placed in a small basin on the stove, allowing it to boil slowly. When the fumes begin to rise from the basin lean your head over it until the fumes are comfortably strong. Inhale for approximately 50 to 80 breaths. Generally this alleviates the headache considerably, if not entirely.


(Impaired) The treatment of impaired hearing has had excellent results on the apple cider vinegar therapy. Take the normal dosage three times daily and notice the improvement.


This usually occurs after eating, sometimes up to two hours later. This very unpleasant feeling can be alleviated by taking the usual dosage of cider vinegar and water before meals.


As previously pointed out cider vinegar helps the blood to clot more easily. When a person who regularly drinks cider vinegar cuts himself, the wound will dry up almost instantaneously, as there will be no profuse bleeding. If, however, wounds do not heal quickly, the following procedure should be undertaken; two teaspoons of cider vinegar taken in half or a whole glass of water at mealtimes as well as in between, therefore six glasses in all are imbibed. For extra efficiency a very weak solution of cider vinegar with water can be applied to the sore, wound or cut.

Poultices of cider vinegar (see instructions under the heading Arthritis) can be applied to a stubborn open wound.


These have been known to be eradicated by drinking a teaspoon of cider vinegar neat! Alternatively cider vinegar with water can be taken before mealtimes to prevent this occurrence.


There are a number of reasons why a person suffers from this common yet serious condition. As mentioned earlier, health will be maintained only if one is prepared to adjust his living and eating habits. Cider vinegar is not the cure-ail of man’s suffering, it is only one of the many means towards a healthier and happier life. In the case of High Blood Pressure, one’s eating habits must be taken stock of to ensure a speedy and effective recovery. Emphasis is on the natural, organically grown foods which are given to us in the form of fresh fruits, vegetables and honey – rather than the high protein foods which include eggs, meat, milk, cheese, nuts, beans etc. A balance must be maintained between the proteins and carbohydrates and one should definitely not over indulge on these protein and starchy foods. Wheat products should also be eliminated completely, together with salt which is very detrimental to the health, especially for those suffering from high blood pressure. The following dosage should be taken daily: two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of water – up to three to four times a day.


There are also a number of causes as to why people suffer from insomnia; however, there have been excellent results with the cider vinegar and honey treatment as follows: two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two of honey in a glass of water to be taken before retiring. It would also be beneficial to have a glass of this mixture by the bedside to sip if needed. Under no circumstances should drugs be resorted to, as these are both harmful and habit-forming. Under severe cases, a naturopath or homeopath should be consulted. If has been found that the prime cause of insomnia is due to a deficiency of phosphate of potash and phosphate of iron; this combination can be found in the biochemic salt known as kali phos, which can be obtained from your local health shop.


Due to the eliminative nature of cider vinegar, the kidneys and bladder can benefit tremendously by a ‘flushing’, which they receive when the following cider vinegar therapy is undertaken: two teaspoons of cider vinegar in a glass of water six times a day. It would be beneficial to drink a couple of glasses of water in the morning, taking one teaspoonful of cider vinegar in each drink. Comfrey tea, first thing in the morning with a teaspoon of cider vinegar will also create a sufficient cleansing action. Inflammation of the kidneys, called pyelitis, in which pus cells are present in the urine, will generally clear up with the above-mentioned treatment.


Chronic pains and profuse menstruation has afflicted women for centuries. The cider vinegar therapy certainly regulates and normalizes profuse bleeding. The dosage should be as normal i.e. two teaspoons of cider vinegar in a glassful of water three times a day. The diet should also be taken into consideration, as a high animal protein diet together with wheat products will cause considerable pain when the periods begin. In other words moderation should be used if one is partaking of these foods. However, meat, poultry, fish and wheat should be completely eliminated from the diet, together with the other unnatural foods of which man is so prone. A noticeable improvement will be experienced when the diet is kept to the fresh raw fruits and fresh salads, together with the apple cider vinegar therapy. Also plenty of water should be taken whilst menstruating, as this helps in a speedy elimination.


Postnasal drips and watery eyes are also due to a faulty diet, here again this should be thoroughly investigated, as the body is eliminating excessive mucous caused by the wrong types of food. This is often caused by a lack of potassium in the diet too, hence the cider vinegar therapy will help considerably. The usual dosage as prescribed above should be taken three times a day before meals. Wheat should be eliminated from the diet completely and rye and corn products should be substituted, if required.


Brittle, cracking, fragile and thin nails are a sign of some deficiency and faulty metabolism in the body. Cider vinegar has been known to remedy this particular complaint, with the results of healthy, strong nails. Also any white spots which were present on the nails previously will be eliminated. Dosage being: two teaspoons in a glassful of water three times a day.


There have been cases where nervousness has been remedied with the cider vinegar and honey treatment. In this instance a glassful of water mixed with two teaspoons of each i.e. cider vinegar and honey to be taken three times a day. Refined flour and sugar products should be completely eliminated from the diet, together with wheat products. One should also cut down on the starch and high protein foods as much as possible and eat plenty of fresh salads and fruit.


As an excessive nose bleed is caused by the blood being unable to clot as it should normally, the cider vinegar treatment will prove efficacious in this respect i.e. two teaspoons of cider vinegar in a glassful of water three times daily.


In this respect the cider vinegar can be used as an inhalant. Use as per method described under the heading Headaches. The nasal passages will shortly clear after having inhaled the vapour. This treatment is very effective in removing the congestion in the sinuses, together with any inflammation which may result from this excessive accumulation of mucous.


Cyril Scott mentions in his booklet on cider vinegar that the prime cause of obesity is the insufficient oxidation of the blood, he goes on to say, “Now the safe and salubrious treatment, proved over years of trial, is to be found in nothing more complicated than cider vinegar – the reason being, as already implied, that the ailment is conductive to the proper oxidation of the blood.” Two teaspoons of cider vinegar should be taken in a glassful of water on rising in the morning. To obtain the best results possible this should be taken before each meal and during the day over a period of some time. Natural methods always take longer to work, as the body has to adapt itself, especially the skin in this instance, as if too much weight is lost in a short period of time, then it will hang and look unsightly. The drink should be sipped during the course of the meal which will also prevent overeating and it will promote digestion. According to some authorities, the average weight reduction is 1.5 Ibs. a week. This all depends upon whether the diet has been adjusted. Salt should be discontinued immediately as this harmful commodity retains water – herbal beverages such as comfrey should take the place of tea and coffee. Wholesome, nutritious and MODERATION is the key to weightless, together with deep breathing and physical exercise.


Cider vinegar relieves the pain arising from shingles if applied, undiluted, six times daily to the area of distress. It also promotes the healing. Take internally as well as prescribed above.


To treat this, one should gargle with apple cider vinegar. One teaspoonful of vinegar in a glass of water is the dosage to be used. A mouthful of this solution is gargled every hour, and the second mouthful after gargling should be swollowed. This is to be repeated every hour until the condition of the throat is improved.


Due to cider vinegar improving the calcium metabolism of the body, it is excellent for improving the condition of the teeth. Tartar deposits can also be eradicated by using the cider vinegar as a mouthwash and by brushing your teeth with it to enhance the whiteness. For the mouthwash, one teaspoonful of cider vinegar should be added to a glassful of water – repeat this procedure each night until the required results are achieved. This habit, together with the drinking of cider vinegar will prevent tooth decay quite considerably. The mouthwash can also be used for sore gums, or ulcerated gums – be sure that the solution is not too strong in this case, as it will slightly sting an open sore.


Apply undiluted cider vinegar to the area where the veins are affected. This should be undertaken in the morning and evening. Massage well – always directed towards the heart e.g. as in the case of the legs, start from the ankles and move in upward strokes towards the thigh. Cider vinegar and honey should also be taken three times a day, i.e. two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two of honey mixed with a glassful of water.


As cider vinegar supplies those organs of the body which are deficient in some mineral and normalizes the functioning of these organs, those who are underweight will find that cider vinegar will help in normalizing their weight. In this instance the following dosage should be adhered to: two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two of honey in a glass of water three times a day.


(Also see Obesity) Cider vinegar will gradually decrease the weight of the body, as it tends to make the body burn up the fat instead of storing it. Some people have had results by just taking the cider vinegar without adjusting their eating habits. However, it is recommended that one should concentrate on the LIVE FOODS, rather than continue to live on the devitalized diet which is so prevalent today. The cider vinegar method, as mentioned under Obesity should be utilized three times daily.


The skin is a very important part of the body, as it is the major organ of elimination. Besides being an effective eliminator the skin also absorbs substances into the body. In view of this fact it is very important to understand that we should be very careful with what we place on the skin. Unnatural substances such as cosmetics, which contain chemicals are very detrimental to the skin health. This is also true for the commercial soap we use for washing the body. The skin needs an acid mantle to maintain its lustre and glow – however, due to the extreme alkalinity of soap reacting on the skin, this causes a number of disorders. Soap also contains animal fats and hormones, synthetic perfumes and preservatives; therefore, it should not be used to cleanse the body.

However, cider vinegar is an effective method of cleansing the body. A hand bath or a full bath can be taken in cider vinegar and water. A hand bath should be preceded as follows: to half a glass of warm water should be added one teaspoonful of apple cider vinegar. Cup the palm of the hand and pour in approximately a palmful of the mixture. First apply to the arms and shoulders, rubbing the solution into the skin briskly. The legs and feet can be done in the same manner, together with the body. A brisk rubbing action should be used to massage the cider vinegar solution into the skin. You will soon find that the solution has been completely absorbed by the skin, therefore, no towelling down is needed.


Instead of using soap, add a half pint of apple cider vinegar to the water and remain submerged in the water for at least fifteen minutes so that the skin surface of the body may have a chance to absorb some of the acid water. This is extremely important for those people who have an alkaline skin; this condition will be indicated by those people who continually suffer from skin irritation, and they are forever scratching their skin.


Take one teaspoonful of apple cider vinegar mixed with a glassful of water – dip your comb into the solution and comb the hair thoroughly until saturated. This should be performed fifteen minutes or so before actually washing the hair. This treatment also helps with the elimination of dandruff.

1 gallon white vinegar
30 drops of essential oil (Go to and look for your favorite essential oil. I recommend 10 ml (Lavender, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, Orange, Peppermint) by Kis Oil's)
The essential oils will provide the sweet smelling scents that you like that come with regular fabric softeners.

Mix ingredients together and pour into a storage container.

To use:

Dilute the vinegar mixture  with water before being used in your laundry.  For regular sizes loads, mix 1/4 cup of vinegar mixture with 3/4 cups of water. Pour the natural fabric softener into your washer during the final rinse cycle.
